Acne is a skin condition that happens when your hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. It can cause pimples, blackheads or whiteheads that usually show up on the cheeks and forehead. It is most common among teenagers and may cause a lot of not only physical but also psychological problems. Sometimes acne can be a result of an allergy to a food or cosmetic product, but no matter what the reason is, everyone should implement a healthy, chemicals free homemade mask to their skincare routine.

CINNAMON AND HONEY MASK

Cinnamon is a natural anti-microbial to help stop bacteria in its tracks, while honey maybe sounds as it should be avoided due to its stickiness it actually has natural antibiotic properties that can kill germs that may cause acne. When those two are combined it can help combat and treat acne effectively and easily. Mix two tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon until completely blended, then apply the mask on your entire face or use it for spot treatment. Leave it for 10-15  minutes, then rinse thoroughly and pat skin dry.


YOGURT AND HONEY MASK

Dairy products have been accused of causing acne but applied properly yogurt can help treat breakouts and improve skin tone. Yogurt suits irritated skin and tones down any redness, while honey kills bacteria living on your skin which make acne worse.

Combine one tablespoon of yogurt and one tablespoon of honey, apply a thin layer and let it sit for 10 minutes. When the time pass, rinse with lukewarm water.

MATCHA MASK

Matcha mask is used to calm irritated skin, reduce redness and detoxify. This is a great mask if you have sensitive and acne-prone skin. All you need to do is to mix one tablespoon of matcha green tea, one teaspoon of aloe vera gel and one teaspoon of water. Use clean brush or fingerprints to apply, let it sit for 10 minutes and wash it off.

GREEN CLAY

This is acne fighting facial mask with a primary ingredient being green clay. You will need a bit of green clay powder that is known for it ability to remove toxins from the skin, one teaspoon of aloe vera gel which will act as a moisturizer, and add few drops of tea tree essential oil for inflamed skin. Apply it on your skin, leave for 10 minutes and wash with warm water.



RIPE TOMATO MASK

Tomato contains lycopene that helps lighten and lift skin, and freshness tones. Just cut the tomato and put the pieces on your face. Leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes, then wash the skin with warm water.

BANANA AND YOGURT

Banana is beneficial for reducing inflammation and acne.  Grind the banana then add yogurt, put it on your face an leave it for 15 minutes before washing it off.
